Another day of delays for Aerolíneas and Austral's passengers

Another day of delays for Aerolíneas and Australs passengers
New problems were faced today by international and short haul flights in Argentina. As in previous days, many Aerolíneas and Austral's flights were delayed.

Seven services were rescheduled at Jorge Newbery Domestic Airport and five at Ezeiza International Airport. This caused great uneasiness among thousands of passengers who are trying to enjoy their winter holidays.

Flights to Bariloche scheduled to take off from Buenos Aires Domestic Airport at 7:55 and10:45, will leave at 10:30 and 11:25, respectively.

The flight to Mendoza scheduled for 7:25 was postponed to 8:30, Ushuaia's 8:55 flight to 10:45, Neuquén's 14:30 flight will leave at 15:20, and San Juan's 19:40 flight will take off at 20:15.

At the same time, Ezeiza International Airport reported delays in two flights to San Pablo, as well as in flights to Madrid, Santiago de Chile and Río de Janeiro.

Delays in Aerolíneas and Austral flights have been reported since last weekend and, according to unionists, they are caused by airline overbooking.

Yesterday, 43 out of 55 flights departing from Jorge Newbery Domestic Airport suffered delays of over 10 hours and three were suspended. Meanwhile, at Ezeiza International Airport, 27 flights suffered delays.

However, spokespersons of the carrier, now owned by the State, confirmed that flights will go back to normal today.

It was explained that "the wave of Brazilian tourists and the problem posed by the beginning of the winter holidays is over."
