Argentina and Russia signed agreement to eliminate visa

Argentine Ambassador in Russia Leopoldo Bravo and Russia's Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov signed an agreement which stipulates the elimination of visas among citizens of both nations.

The agreement was signed this morning (local time) in the Russian Chancellery in Moscow.

Last March 11, this agreement was signed in Buenos Aires by Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana, Argentine Ambassador in Russia Leopoldo Bravo, and Russian Ambassador Yuri Korchagin.

In December 2008, President Fernández de Kirchner and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev signed the Joint Declaration of Strategic Association between both nations. During that official meeting, Russian and Argentinean heads of state signed agreements related to energy, trade, space development, technology and a technical collaboration in mining, as well as an agreement between industrial unions of Russia and Argentina.
