Bovespa drops 1.4%

The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance declined 1.4 percent to 58,694 points.

It dropped 12.9 percent in May, 14.2 percent so far in the current year.

The US dollar meanwhile gained 1.5 percent to R$1.859 in the Brazilian exchange market.
