The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has named today former French finance minister Dominique Strauss-Kahn as the new Managing Director of the institution. IMF's Executive Board has selected him by consensus to succeed Rodrigo de Rato. Strauss-Kahn had the support of Europe and US. Argentina had made backing official yesterday together with Brazil.
