Lavagna back from US: "Now we have to wait"

Argentina's Economy Minister Roberto Lavagna stated Tuesday in reference to the outcome of the meeting he held with the IMF executives that it was positive and "we believe we did well, now we have to wait" the progress of the negotiations.

Lavagna declined to comment on the details of the meeting held with IMF executives such as IMF Deputy Managing Director Ann Krueger, and Argentina's Finance Minister Guillermo Nielsen and other representatives.

Argentina's Economy Ministry and the IMF issued yesterday a joint statement where they said the meeting was "useful and constructive."

There is optimism after the confirmation that the IMF mission will arrive in Argentina next week thus, the doubts of the IMF and the industrialized countries(G7) on Argentina's "good faith" to negotiate with private creditors disappeared.
