Argentina unblocks agreement with Bolivia on gas sales

Argentina's possibility to resume gas imports from Bolivia is finally certain after Bolivian President Carlos Mesa announced the signing of an agreement to authorize sales of the fuel to Argentina.

Under the deal Argentina would receive as from May gas imports for a maximum of 4 million of cubic meters daily, which according to Argentina's estimations would meet the country's demand during next winter.

However, the agreement will be temporary as it will last for six months, and it will only be renewed if next July 18 Bolivians vote to continue exporting gas.
