"Oh, vaya, esto ha sido profundo... Tener que despedirme de nuestro Matty ha sido una ola de emociones loca que nunca antes había experimentado", escribió Aniston en Instagram.

“Todos experimentamos una pérdida en algún momento de nuestras vidas. Pérdida de la vida o pérdida del amor. Ser capaz de SENTARTE realmente en este dolor te permite sentir momentos de alegría y gratitud por haber amado a alguien tan profundamente. Y lo amábamos profundamente. Él era una gran parte de nuestro ADN. Siempre éramos los 6. Esta fue una familia elegida que cambió para siempre el curso de quiénes éramos y cuál sería nuestro camino. Matty sabía que le encantaba hacer reír a la gente. Como él mismo dijo, si no escuchaba la 'risa' pensaba que iba a morir. Su vida dependía literalmente de ello. Y vaya si logró hacer justamente eso. Nos hizo reír a todos. Y reírse mucho. En las últimas dos semanas, he estado leyendo nuestros mensajes de texto. Reír y llorar y luego volver a reír. Los guardaré por siempre jamás. Un día encontré un mensaje de texto que me envió de la nada. Lo dice todo. (Ver la segunda diapositiva…) Matty, te amo mucho y sé que ahora estás completamente en paz y sin ningún dolor. Hablo contigo todos los días… a veces casi puedo oírte decir “¿podrías ESTAR más loco?” Descansa hermanito. Siempre me alegraste el día..."

We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply. He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be. For Matty, he KNEW he loved to make people laugh. As he said himself, if he didn't hear the ‘laugh’ he thought he was going to die. His life literally depended on it. And boy did he succeed in doing just that. He made all of us laugh. And laugh hard. In the last couple weeks, I’ve been pouring over our texts to one another. Laughing and crying then laughing again. I’ll keep them forever and ever. I found one text that he sent me out of nowhere one day. It says it all. (See the second slide…) Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain. I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying “could you BE any crazier?” Rest little brother. You always made my day… "

Schwimmer agradeció a Perry “por diez años increíbles de risas y creatividad”. “Nunca olvidaré tu impecable sincronización y ejecución cómica”, escribió Schwimmer en Instagram.

“Podrías tomar una línea recta de diálogo y doblarla a tu gusto, dando como resultado algo tan completamente original e inesperadamente divertido que aún asombra. Y tenías corazón. Con lo cual fuiste generoso y lo compartiste con nosotros, para que pudiéramos crear una familia con seis extraños. Esta foto es de uno de mis momentos favoritos contigo. Ahora me hace sonreír y llorar al mismo tiempo. Te imagino allí arriba, en algún lugar, con el mismo traje blanco, las manos en los bolsillos, mirando a tu alrededor... ¿Podría haber más nubes?”.

El muy unido elenco protagonista de Friends emitió un comunicado grupal dos días después de la repentina muerte de Perry.

Perry fue encontrado muerto por su asistente en un jacuzzi de su casa el 28 de octubre. La Oficina del Médico Forense del Condado de Los Ángeles ha catalogado la causa de la muerte como diferida en espera de informes toxicológicos.
