Bachelet está entre las 100 mujeres más poderosas del mundo, Cristina no

La canciller de Alemania Angela Merkel es la mujer más poderosa del mundo, la secretaria de Estado estadounidense Condoleezza Rice perdió poder y la presidente chilena Michelle Bachelet es la única de América latina que figura entre las 100 primeras de la revista Forbes.

La lista de "Las 100 mujeres más poderosas del mundo" divulgada este jueves por la revista empresarial estadounidense coronó nuevamente a Merkel en el primer lugar que ostentaba el año pasado tras desplazar una primera vez a Rice.

Merkel "siguió impresionando al mundo con su liderazgo tranquilo", opinó Forbes. Pero las mujeres asiáticas no se quedan atrás. Entre las diez primeras, cinco son norteamericanas y tres vienen de Asia.

La jefa de la diplomacia estadounidense siguió en cambio cayendo este año a medida que el equipo del presidente de Estados Unidos George W. Bush pierde poder en vísperas de las elecciones de 2008.

Rice ocupa el cuarto lugar, desplazada por la vice primer ministra china Wu Yi. Tercera es Ho Ching, empresaria de Temasek Holdings, de Singapur. Junto a Merkel hay solo otra europea entre las diez primeras, la británica Cynthia Carroll, presidente de Anglo American, empresa de minería anglo-sudafricana.

Bachelet sigue siendo la única latinoamericana que figura en la lista, en el puesto 27, detrás de la candidata a la investidura demócrata por la Casa Blanca, la senadora Hillary Clinton (25).

La reina Isabel de Inglaterra ocupa el lugar 23. Figuran además dos empresarias españolas: Ana Patricia Botin, presidente de Banesto (puesto 40) y Rosalía Mera, en el lugar 76, por su ligedarzgo al frente de Inditex.
